The use of travel agencies has declined for a reason; everyone books trips online because it is so convenient. The effort you have to put into travel planning is minimized when you use the right Internet resources. Make the most of your travel budget by booking air travel, rental cars and hotels online.

You can find photographs and customer reviews of many of the hotels and other lodgings in which you are interested. Don’t forget to look for discounts when booking travel at the last minute.

Think of what what be worn multiple times when packing for your trip. As an example, you can get multiple outfits out of blazers and shoes. You will pack significantly less this way.

You will have a lot of neighbors when you check into a hotel. When you are at the hotel, do not slam doors, nor be so loud that you disturb others. Even during the day people may be sleeping, either from jet lag or just a late night the night before. You don’t have to be completely silent, just be as respectful as you can be.

Backyard chicken coop with hens inside, one of my favorites!

If you are looking for chicken coop blueprints and it’s the first time to actually do this, then you might feel a little confused as to what you need to be on the lookout for. Fortunately, in the following paragraphs I’ll go over what you need to find the right coop plans.

Design

First of all, when you will look for designs (I recommend checking out Bestchickencoop.org, as they feature all of the top rated plans online), you will have your personal needs and preferences dictating what you’ll eventually get. Thus, while some plans will allow you to build your coop out of wood, others will allow you for building them out of other materials.

Yet what is important is the coop to feature solid doors, windows and sturdy materials. You can also go with a wire structure and lightweight wood, featuring no bottom which can be moved around your backyard maybe, thus, brining the chicken fresh grass and bugs every time you relocate it.

Sturdy coop

You should plan on building a wooden shed that comes with roosts inside and nesting boxes for the chickens. Using wood for your coops will not only make the chicken feel better, but they will also hopefully be better egg producers, will feel content and safe.

Be sure to frame the wood with two by fours and cover the walls with groove boards, tongue and plywood. For the ceiling, you can add more two by fours for beams and then have plywood laid down and cover with tin or shingles. You can also use plywood for the floor, too.

Free Range

You may want to have the free range conditions approximated for your chickens and thus avoid the tight and closed up atmosphere described in the previous section. Thus, you may want to build a chicken coop and cover the sides with chicken wire, covering a side with a tarp so it would face the north during wintertime and also add a tin roof. This will allow your chicken to move freely and you will never have to worry about predators getting them. It’s really a great design!

Coop Plans

The final piece of the puzzle to building the perfect chicken house is finding the right DIY instructions to guide you through the process. There’s a lot of guides online, but only a few are worthy of mentioning.

One resource that helped me was this blog post (Wired.com HowTo Wiki), as it’s free and I didn’t have a lot of money available when I started building my coop.

Hopefully you enjoyed the article, and learned a few tips to building your own coop! Check out the 2 resources I linked to for more information on the building process, and tips to help you avoid costly mistakes. Remember, every DIY beginner will make mistakes, but just getting started is the hard part! Start building your coop, and learn along the way.
